My dear Albert
I didn’t know if you will be
at home. I hope if you are away
it is better weather than we are
having, for it is pouring, today!
I got this on Monday, and it
seems satisfactory enough so far
as it goes, does it not? But Margaret
Johnson’s report of Hazletts’ health
and young looks makes me rather
despair – if he were able to enjoy
life I should be ashamed of longing
too much for the money but as
it is, negation can’t matter much to
him!
With love to both from both
Yours affectionly
Charlotte M MacCulloch
