To Evelyn J. Shirley, Lough Fea
From:
Drumgosath [Drumgoosat?]
Oct [October?] 21st
Respected Sir
I hop [hope?] that your honour
will be so kind as to take the following
distressed case into consideration We Know
that you are harrassed by such - and sorry
for hearing of such grievances but at
the same time - hungar [hunger?] poverty and distress
compell [compel?] us to look to your honour for
some redress. The petitioner Patrick
Cummisky of Drumgosarth [Drumgooset?] has given up
his land to Mr Morant without putting
him to any sort of trouble his Father is dead
these three years so that this Boy strove to
support his poor Mother and 7 of 8 of
a family untill [until?] at present by Mr Lanes
assistance by giving employment to some of
us So being unable any longer unless your
honour will be so kind as to give employment
to one of us and to send three of four of
the rest to America. So hoping that
your honour will be so kind as to
consider this - for which this poor widow
and all her orphants [orphans?] will be bound to pray
Evelyn J. Shirley Esqr [Esquire?]
