Coleraine 29th April 1846
Dear Nephew
I received your letter
of the 9th of March I am glad to hear you
are well your Aunts and I are well. When
we received it we sent it over to your Fathers
we have no influence on him or his Family but
I always heard it said that your Father
intends to give you just the same as the rest of
his Children, your Aunt Sarah has sent two
Newspapers to Athens [New York?] you may send for some
of them but you need not put yourself to any
trouble in sending her one. I think Coleraine
is twice as large since you left it we have
[got a?] splendid Bridge over the Bann which
(stain) about [?] Pounds we have got Lamps in
all the Streets in the Town lit with Gass [Gas?]
any one in the Town may have their shops
lit with it. we have two Churches of the Church
of England four Presbyterian Churches one Methodist
Church one Baptist Do [Church?] one Independant
[Independent?] Do [Church?] and two Papist Chapels.
I think the Dublin, Belfast, Ballymoney, Coleraine
and Portrush Railway will cross my Farm the
most of my Neighbours have got their seed
in the Ground and are now begun to sel [sell?]
their Potatoes your Freinds [Friends?] in Coleraine are
all well I hope you and all my Friends
in Athens [New York?] are well, and all the Creightons
and am Dear William
