received your note on friday
and would have answered
it sooner but the woman did
not let me know on monday
when she was going and I
thought she had not gone
untill [until?] I asked her last night
I was very sory [sorry?] to think

that I said I would never
cross your door I never saide [said?]
aney sutch [any such?] thing but would
be very happey [happy?]if I could geet [get?]
time to go to see you and will
go as soon as I cane [can?] geet [get?] away
but the way I am fixed
I would not say where and when
I read your note I thought
I would goe [go?] on monday
and not writ [write?] as I could
explain the matter about
M Jane going home we never
had an ill word since the
day we first met nor I
do not know what was the
reason whie [why?] M.Jane was [-?]iffed
at me the morning she
went away she said she
had to go over the water
that is Dearvock [Dervock?] side and
she did not come back or I
would have gone with her
although I was very unwell
that morning when she went
out but I thought it was
onley [only?] a caper in her and
got up out of my bed thinking
every minet [minute?] that she would
be in againe [again?] but it is
all over and I think it
was not worth one [----- ----?]
to make a storey [story?] of it but
I know that there is a great
maney [many?] that would be glad
to see us fall out but I
for my part had no interest
of letting so trifling a thing
put betwixt us [---?] I hope
Mary J. [Jane?] does think the same
I would be glad if she would
come to see us if she was to
stay but one day on account
of talke [talk?] and as I have some
money to give her I would
have sent it to her but I
would like to se her as I
think if i weare [were?]
met we would soon explain
