      Be it known that in this twenty fourth
      day of July, A.D. Eighteen Hundred
      and eighty.

      Before [Antoine Abat?] Notary Public
      in and for the Parish aforesaid,
      State aforesaid, duly qualified & sworn
      and in the presence of the herein after
      named and undersigned witnesses.
                 Personally apppeared
                George F. Brott of the parish of
                Orleans aforesaid
                                who delivered into
the undersigned Notary and requested him to
deposit in his current Register, according to
the laws and usages of this State, with full
power to deliver copies of the same to whomever
it shall or may belong or concern , three
certain deeds of sale, one dated the tenth day of
July, eighteen hundred & seventy three, granted
by Andrew W. Smyth to said appearor, and
probated the twenty seventh day of April, granted
by Wm P Kellogg, Governor of Louisiana, to said
appearor, and the third dated the fifteenth day
of June, eighteen hundred & seventy five and
granted by James G. Richardson to same.
         And which said these documents [are?]
and remain secret, annexed at the request
of said Appearor and are, word for word
and figure for figure, herein transcribed
"in [extenso?]," and read as follows:-
 "State of Louisiana"
 "Parish of Orleans"
                   " Know all men by these
presents that I, Andrew W. Smyth, resident
of said Parish and said State, do hereby
sell, transfer and deliver to George F. Brott, also
of the same residence, the following described
land situated in the Parish of Orleans and being
all of fractional section Fifteen (15) and
fractional section twenty-two (22) in Township
twelve (12) South Range eleven (11) East, South
-eastern Land District of Louisiana containing
in all One hundred and one acres and eighty two
one hundreths (101 82/100) acres".
   "This sale is made for the consideration of
twenty five 46/100 Dollars Cash in hand paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
to have and to hold said land in favor of
said Brott his heirs and assigns."
"It being well understood that this vendor does not
warrant the title to said land except against
himself his heirs and assigns, but against
no other person or persons whomsoever; hereby
only transferring such title as he has acquired
by the city of said land from the State of Louisiana."
   "In testimony whereof we have hereto signed
our names in presence of the undersigned witnesses
on this 10th day of July A.D. 1873."

                   " I do solemnly swear,
that I signed the foregoing deed at the time
it bears date and that I saw the other subscribing
witness and the parties thereto sign the same
at the same time."

                Whereas George F. Brott,
of the Parish of Orleans in the State of
Louisiana, purchased his certificate
No 1237, N T D, 11th July 1873,
Lots Nos one, two, three and four of
Section No. Twenty one, in Township Twelve,
South of Range Eleven East, in the South Eastern
Land District East of the Mississippi River
containing Ninety seven & forty eight one hundredths
97 48/100 acres according to the official
Plot of the survey of said lands in the
State Land Office."
                  "Now know Ye: That the State of
Louisiana in consideration of the premises and
in conformity with law in such case made
and provided, Has given, granted and sold
and by these presents, Does give, Grant and
Sell unto the said Geo. [George?] F. Brott
and to his heirs, the above described land.
To have and to hold the same together with all
the rights, titles and privileges thereunto
belonging, unto the said George F. Brott and to
his heirs and assigns forever."
                In witness whereof I, William
Pitt Kellogg, Governor of the State of Louisiana
have caused these transfers to be made [Patent?]
and the seal of the State of Louisiana to be
hereunto affixed.
                "Given under my hand, at the
City of New Orleans, on the 27th day of April,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy four, and of the Independence
of the United States, the ninety eighth.

in the name of George F. Brott on the 27th
of April 1874.

"Parish of Orleans".
                    Know all men by these
presents, that I James G. Richardson,
resident of said Parish and State, do hereby
grant, bargain, sell and deliver to George
F. Brott, also of the same residence, the
one undivided help of the following described
lands to wit.
  "Lots one (1) and two (2) Section Fifteen,
Fractional section twenty two, and Lots One, Two,
Three and Four, of section Twenty one (21), in
Township Twelve (12) South of Range Eleven
(11) East, in the South Eastern Land District
East of the Mississippi River, containing
in the aggregate one hundred and ninety nine
30/100 acres, and situated in the Parish
of Orleans, in said state."
  "To have and to hold said land to and in
favor of said George F. Brott, his heirs and
assigns forever: the vendor herein only warranting
title as gainst himself and his heirs, but not
against the claim of any other person as
Claimant.
         "The consideration for which this
sale is made is the sum of five thousand
dollars, cash in hand paid, the recepit whereof
is hereby acknowledged."
  "In testimony whereof of [both?] parties hereto
have signed this deed and contract in
presence of J. W. Parker and
C. A. Carriese, witnesses also of the same
residence, who here signed this deed as
witnesses, on this 15th day of June, A D
1875."

do solemnly swear that I saw the parties
to the foregoing act sign the same and
that I signed the same with the other
subscribing witness at the same time and
on the same day it bears date."

   And here the same, Appearer declared
that the last transcribed act is a
reposession made to him by the said
James G. Richardson of the deed of
conveyance executed by him, the Appearer,
on the nineteenth day of August, Eighteen
Hundred and Seventy Three, and registered
Book 105, Folio 339, of the Register of
Conveyances for the Parish of Orleans: and
he the said appearer, refers to his Patent
No 1871 above mentioned and to his act
of purchase from Andrew W. Smyth, above
transcribed, and to his patent, establishing
his sale and entire title to all the lands
above described.
And now personally appeared and witnessed
in those present.
        Messieurs Andrew W. Smyth and
James G. Richardson, both of this City,
who after having taken due cognizance
of the two aforementioned acts of sale
dated the 10th  of July 1873 and the
15th day of June, 1875, respectively and
severally declared that they do hereby
acknolwedge having voluntarily executed
and delivered the said deeds of sale
for the uses and purposes and considerations
therein expressed, and desired the same to
be certified. And further that they respectively
do hereby confirm and satisfy said sales
as to what concerns each of these, intending
and understanding that the same shall
be duly registered according to law and
executed in all and singular their
parts and contents.
   Done and passed at the said
City of New Orleans on the day, month
& year first herein above written, in
the presence of Louis [Lirkenbach?] & of
Joseph R. [Bres?], witnesses of lawful
age and domiciliated in this City,
who hereunto sign their names, together
with the said Appearers and Notary.
The word "one" underlined, the word "be"
erased, null and this # reference:
  Eighteen hundred and seventy four approved
before signing.

And this twenty sixth day of October Eighteen
hundred and eighty, before me the said
notary, again personally came and appearer
the said Geo. [George?] F. Brott who delivered
unto and requested me to deposit
in my current Registry and answer to the
foregoing act of deposit to form a part
thereof, according to the laws & usages
of this State and with power to deliver
Copies of the same to whomsoever it
shall or may belong or concern, a certain
duly certified copy of An original Map
drawn by W. N. Bell Civil Engineer
dated Oct 20th 1880 of property
comprised in sections 15, 21, & 22 in [T12?]
S. R. 11 E, and situated in the Corporate
[Circuits?] of the City of New Orleans known
as "Park Place" compiled from the
U. S. surveys approved January 26th 1872
and from maps of squares of streets in
file in City Surveyor's office of New Orleans.
Which copy is and remains hereto
annexed makes part of the said foregoing
act of Deposit at the request of said
Appearer, after having been thoroughly
& carefully compared by me, the said
Notary, with said original maps drawn
by the said W. N. Bell as aforesaid,
and by me found to be perfectly correct
by me and passed at the City of New Orleans
the day & date last above written in this
presence of George W. Stockton & George
J. Ballam witnesses who hereto sign
their names together with the said
Appearer and Notary after due
reading hereof.
