What work have [then?] Gurley & Richardson done
besides paying off the taxes [Olivier?] [held?]
What other taxes have they paid, what
litigation made? Have railroads the
right to expropriate any land except what
their rails cross. Have they the right
to expropriate for a station like the
electric light. What can be done to
stop prescription on Jefferson property
& 6th dist.[district?]. What investigations in
regard to these has Mr. Reynold made
since his preliminary report on the lands.
A land survey cannot be made across
a [stream?] but follows the [banks?] how
then could a straight line be made
on this basin. What about the [entry?] of the
New Orleans land spoken of by Dr - . Did this
[Canal?] Bank claim to hold from
the Le Breton grant. What year was it
granted? What Gov [Governor?] signed & was it
signed by himself as O'Reilly decided
6th Dist [District?] & Jefferson to be surveyed &
properly located immediately if Reynold
has not done so yet. If Reynold will
not advance money to pay claims will Mr. Lemle
try to get others to do so. Could a mortgage
be raised on the Electric Light Station ?

What date was the Le Breton grant if while
the [Idelphonso?] grant was kept secret from
1800 to 1803 would it be valid ? Does not a
survey generally [follow?] the banks of a stream.
Spanish [&?] [Manns?].[Mizaga?] - 1770-1776.
By a [royal?] schedule of Aug 4 - 1774. The
power of granting lands was rested in
the governor according to the regulations
made by O'Reilly Jan 8th 1790. Hence the
question presents its whether all grants
made by subsequent governors were not
null & void when made in violation
of those regulations, if it had not been
shown that these regulations had been
repeated or modified.
1776 [Don?] Bernado de Galnez entered into office
Feb 1st 1777 to 1785. Miro 1785 to 1799. [Carondelet?]
1791 to 1797. [Gayoso?] 1797 to 1801.
Commandants are forbidden to grant land
to a new settler coming from another [parl?]
when he has already obtained a grant.
Such a one must either buy land or
obtain a grant from the Governor himself.
[Mine?] is the Le Breton Grant. [Would?]
like to see it?

The Le Breton grant was a de facto
grant by the French government
which is not legal but the [St. Idelphonso?]
treaty by the secession of La [Louisiana?]
to France,[confirmed?] the grant.
What is the date of the Le Breton grant.
What French Govr [Governor?] agreed it

           [Queries?] about land ?
