            [Charlestown?] 9Feby 1838
My dear Sir
I received yesterday your highly esteemed
[favour?] and [3 inst?] cannot but express my grateful
acknowledgement to you for your very kind and friendly
offer which I very readily accept in the hope that after
the present year we shall not again [here?] pass upon
your unbounded goodness- I wrote You for [most?] in
reply to your previous [favour?] and am surprized that
you had not received my letter as I put it into the
Post Office- It will afford me the highest pleasure to
visit you & if I can possibly make arrangements to do
so I certainly will. I regret however that you cannot
visit us.
I have paid Mr [Heath's?] order for his [hench?] and
shall be prepared to pay your orders when they appear. With
regard to the [Rough?] [Rice?] left I shall be satisfied with
whatever [disposition?] you may make of it- pray [tender?]
my best wishes to Mrs McDowell and your family.

                   Very truly yours
                       H.O.Davies-
