 Memorandum of Agreement
made this tenth day of February A.D. 1876
 Between Sir Francis Hincks K. L. M. G. L. B.
of the city of Montreal, in the Province of
Quebec of the first part and
 William Hincks of the City of Washington
in the District of Columbia, United States of
America Esquire of the second part

 Whereas by a certain Indenture of
Mortgage bearing date the seventeenth
February 1874 and Registered in the
Registry Office of the Township of Horton
County Renfrew as No. [Number?] 790 the said party
of the first part in consideration of
the sum of $5,255. did grant and
mortgage to the said party of the second
part the land and premises therein
described and being composed of Lot Town
and the East half Lot Five in the ninth
Concession of the Township of Horton
County of Renfrew containing by
admeasurement 300 acres more or less.
 And Whereas the party of the second
part has agreed to advance the said
party of the first part a further sum
of $245. Dollars to be repaid with interest
at 8%
 How this agreement Witnesseth
that consideration of the sum of
$245. of lawful money of Canada now
paid by the said party of the second
part to the said party of the first part
(the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged)
He the said party of the first part doth
charge and encumber the said lands
and premises above described and doth
hereby agree to repay the said sum of $245.
on the first day of February 1877 with -
interest payable in the meantime
quarterly on the first days of February
May August and November at the
first of such quarterly payments to be
made on the first day of May now
next ensuring the date of this Agreement
Interest to be computed from the tenth
day of February 1876.
 And the said party of the first part
agrees if required to execute a mortgage
for the said sum of $245. with Interest
as aforesaid over the said lands.
 In witness whereof the said parties
hereto have hereunto set their hands
and seals.
