I desired J. Pike to [----?] thee some days ago in a [----?] if he
had one ) that there was now a ship up here for Philadelphia &
requested thou wld [would?]send the Linens wch [which?] I ord,d
[ordered?] for T. Lightfoot here, as soon as possible if no
opportunity thither from your parts wth [with?] wt [what?]
ever else thou wanted to be conveyed thither: this [-----?]
I hope thou rec,d [received?] before thou left home, & that
thou has ord.d [ordered?] Matters accordingly.
This is intended to be deliv'd [delivered?] by my
Master Geo: [George?] Penrowe in Dublin, as he goes thither,
I must remain by the Stuff at present; let the reward be as
little as it may; for indeed as I do not deserve to partake
of the spoil, I do not expect it. Yet hope that in the same
degree of can desire that all such as go to the Battle,cloath,d
[clothed?] w,th [with?] the right armour/ altho' [although?] as
simple as the rams horns or the empty pitches, may be made
conquerers, & consequently [----?] [---?] of a Degree of that
living treasure, w'ch [which?] is more divinable to all such
than any other enjoyment here.
I have of late Mo. [month?] witnessed as much as being
seemingly forsaken, as I think I ever remember to have done,
yet at times hope, that the foundation is not [---?] altogether,
that neither the winters flood nor frost can extremely erase
or kill altho' [although?] nothing else but Death For a long
season may appear; yet how it may end shall at present leave.
Thy & J. Hill's bills are both honr'd [honoured?] & I
believe will be paid, before this reaches thy hand, as the
necessary funds is lodged with J. Pike for that purpose.
Please send me as soon as possibly thou can ab't [about?]
twenty pieces of Linen from 1/8 & 2/8 per yard.
My wife has this day gone tow'd [toward?] Clonmell [Clonmel?]
where our prom'd [promised?] meeting is to be next 1st & 2nd day,
the world won't permit my going before tomorrow evening if then
[---?] & my D'st [Dearest?] Love is to thee & family, [----?
