EMIGRATION. - For so far in the present in the
present season the tide of emigration from Lurgan
and the surrounding neighbourhood has been far in
excess of many years past. During the present week,
large numbers have left for various parts
of the United States and Canada, and on yesterday
(Thursday) several fine, stalwart, respectable young
men, of the better-to-do farming class, left that
station for Derry, en route for Canada, all having
been booked on advantageous terms by the Lurgan agent.
It is expected that many more will soon follow
their example.
