The British Ship British Queen goes Ashore in Nantucket

Boston, Dec. 24- The British ship British Queen, from Dublin,
for New York, with 270 passengers, went on shore near the
west end of Nantucket, in Muskeget Channel, at twelve o'clock,
on Tuesday night. The passengers were all taken off and
landed safely at Nantucket, with exception of four who
perished with cold. The captain had been sick for some time.
They were 24 hours on deck, half- frozen and half-starved,
before assistance could reach them, the hold being full of
water. The ship has been stripped, and will be a total loss.
