Maureen Bloomer, Belfast to Chris McIvor, C.M.S.
[Address] 23/4/05 Dear Ms McIvor I enclose the post cards as arranged with you on your visit to Colin Glen Library. these cards were sent by tree Brothers, Frank, Neal & Michael Rogers to my uncle Patrick Bloomer & some to my dad - Daniel Bloomer. The brothers were born in the Sixmilecross/Ballygawley area around the 1880's. Their name was McCrory but was changed to the anglicised form of the name on emigration to New York. Frank married an Irish girl & lived & died in New York in the 1940's. Michael married an Irish girl too. He returned to Ireland in the 1930/40's and died in Co Leitrim in 1940's. Neal joined the American Army in 14/18 War.He died of Cholera in France 1919. One card written by Neal Rogers was posted in Liverpool & so it would appear he travelled to New York through that port. If these cards are of use to the Centre Of Migration Studies you are welcome to have them. Yours faithfully Maureen BloomerClose
