I suppose you will wonder to hear from me as I think everybody over there has forgot all about us I know when you get of writing it is terrible to sit down to write to any one [anyone?] But I have not forgotton [forgotten?] yous [you?] all the same. I dont [don't?] think we would ever forget Clougherney [Clogherny?] .if we were a hundred years away from it But I hope it Wont [won't?] be so long to I get back to the oat bread again Side 2 Teresa often makes me laugh when she takes a notion of acting Patrick Mc Killion or McKeagney You would just think she was at home again The weather here is so hot It is just killing I often say I hope this weather Wont [won't?] go near Ireland. as It would kill people to work out Teresa & I still works [work?] in the same office The [they]?] call me nothing But Erin go Bragh We both like it well. We often say We are going home to Ireland But they are so well used to us now the [they?] dont [don't?] want us to leave atall [at all?] but that wont [wont?] keep us long. When we take the notion about Clougherney [Clogherny?] Side 3 If this great heat was over I must start & write more or the neighbours will forget about us I suppose when we go home the [they?] will think I have been away for over half a century If I let them forget me I hope Ma.& Da is well also Minnie Aggie & Joe I am thinking long for a letter from them We hear from John often he is well & doing well Teresa is gone out now she will be sorry she is not here to put something in this letter But when I take a notion of writing I like to finish It & & post it Side 4 as I often write letters & forget to post them now be sure & write me a long letter soon & tell me all about home and if Da & ma runs over the way they used to go. Da used to say he would not be right sitting Down till There there would be a string after him with the melodian [melodeon?] Well I hope them good times will all come back again before long Tell your Mother if I dont write often I just mind all her goodness to us as well as the day I left home & Johny as well If our prayers are heard we often pray for yous [you?] all & I hope god [God?] will spare us all to meet in Clougherney [Clogherny?] again I think Ill [I'll?] say Goodby [goodbye?] for now & Remain as ever yours Ellie OConnor Transcribed by NualaMacSherry.
