Sketch of Ballywalter Lower Main Street
Part of the Frederick Brown Collection (This document did not scan clearly therefore there is no image attached However the text details of the sketch are included.) The fifth house from the right in this sketch of Ballywalter Lower Main Street, is where Alexander Glenn Jr. ( bap. [baptized?] 10 July 1838 ) was raised. His parents, Alexander Glenn (sailor ) and Mary Askin, rented the house from landlord Andrew Mulholland. In 1863 at the age of 25, Alex Jr. ( mariner ) left Ballywalter to join his uncle Sam who had gone to Amherst Island in 1827, and his uncle Hugh who had gone there in the 1840's.
