Methodist Assistance for Intending Emigrants
AMERICAN FRIENDLY ASSOCIATION FOR IRISH EMIGRANTS, No.9, DONEGALL SQUARE, NORTH, BELFAST. ALL PERSONS THINKING OF EMIGRATING to the United States of America would do well to call on the Agents of this Association prior to making their final arrangements, who will give them such information (if adhered to) as will prevent them from being IMPOSED upon and SWINDLED by "Emigrant Agents," "Runners," and "Lodging House Keepers," and who will see that they are safely placed in charge of a Minister of the Gospel, of their own denomination, who will look after their best interests. WE MAKE NO CHARGE. All necessary information and directions given gratis, the whole expenses being defrayed by a few noble hearted gentlemen in New York, who wept as they beheld the miseries brought on thousands of Irish Emigrants, annually, through lack of proper directions and care. Emigrants must send or bring a Letter of Character from their Minister, or some responsible person, before we can take them under our care. JOHN COOK, Agent, 9 Donegall square North, Belfast.Close
