Pittsburgh 21 November 1815 Mr John Greeves In your Letter 25 of 7 month July Came to hand the first Instant inclosed [enclosed?] was a Coppy [Copy?] of Wm [William?] Heaziltons will Late of Pittsburgh and as you wish to have a Statement of his afairs [affairs?] I Send it to you there will in all Probabilty be nearly the hundred Dollars of Dets [Debts?] Got yet the largest that is owing by any one is his sister Ann Hunter is about one hundred and Sixty Dollars which she in Part Denies there is a bond for one Hundred dollars and a book account for about Sixty Dollars the Dit [debt?] was Contracted when She was a widow and Did not Let her Husband know before the were Maried [Married?] it will [Make?] it the more Difficult to Collect we never took slips to collect it as it was Presumed that she was one of the ares [heirs?] to hir [her?] Brothers Effects I know it Never will be Paid untill [until?] the are Compelled by a Court of Law which Makes rather unpleasant for Me to under take [undertake?] as she Denis [denies?] to hir [her?] husband that she was owing him any thing [anything?] hir [her?] Husband has went so far as to say that the bond is a forgery I wish [to?] know from you if I will go on by regular Corse [Course?] of Law, when all Collected I will Send you a Statement of the whole under the seale [seal?] the Registers office the Greatest Part of the dets [Debts?] is Paid I suppose about hundred Dollars will pay the whole that is to pay the [Sworn?] Day after Did I had to advance Mony [Money?] to Pay a note in [past?] that [-----?] for him for five Hundred Dollars the goods in the Store was sold at Auction at a Credit of Six Months it was a plan that we took to make the Most of them and it had the Desired affect it was a Time when Goods was scarce in this Country Wm Wilson has received the Greater Part of what is Coming to him of his Wifes annuity from hir [her?] Brother I am determined to act to your Directions Never the less I think that My Respected friend Edward Heazilton ought to be Taken into Consideration he has not been fortunate for some time past but [-----?] him as you May I am Determined you shall have satistfaction acount of the whole of the property that Came into My hands at the Decease of Wm Heazilton of Pittsburgh I wish to here [hear?] from you on the rest of this and your orders shall be attended to with Punctuality and Dispatch Respectfuly yours [--?] the following is a statement of the Property Nathl [Nathaniel?] of William Heazilton that Come in to my Hands Holmes Dollars Cents Goods and Chattles sold at auction 3547 83 Cash in Hand the time of decrease 156 53 Goods [sold?] by the Boy at the Time of Decrease Got 15 [Miles?] 100 55 from tow and cash with the above goods 86 50 Det [Debts?] received since the time 215 09 Decd [Deceased?] Dols [Dollars?] 4106 50 Dets [Debts?] Paid as attested 2149 43 Bills will shoi [Show?] the young man that sold the Goods and Mony [Money?] was [Convaled?] for the Goods but afterwards wish the Governers pardon he Governed to the Lawers [Lawyer?] that Pled [Plead?] his Cause his rite [right?] of the mony [money?] as the thought there could be no proof of it but I [sold?] it as [yett?] after been [being?] Pardoned he Brought Suit against us and obtained a Judgement for the ammount of the Mony [Money?] but we have appealed [with?] the Cort [Court?] from the Judgement whether we will have to Pay it or not I Cannot say but We Got it in a Pocket Book in his Mothers 15 Miles from Town and the Pocket Book was with a number of [titles?] to the amount the Statement for the other side.
