On Sunday the Hinde frigate brought into this harbour
as prize, a large smuggling cutter, mounting 16 guns,
4 and 6 pounders and forty men. She was loaded with
500 casks of spirits, tea, tobacco, and nankeen from
Guernsey. She was chased for 15 hours before capture.
She was supposed to land her cargo on the coast of
Mourne.
