Return to Orders of the Honourable Houseof Commons, dated 25 March 1822;—/or, An ACCOUNT showing the Prices of all Irish Spirits in every three months, for the last five Years preceding ist October 1821, in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick; how much that Price in each three months exceeded the Duty, Computing the strength of Spirits at the strength of which the Duty is charged;—also, An Account showing that the Excess of the Price of such Irish Spirits, calculated per English wine gallon, and at 7 per cent over proof, is over the Duty.

(COPY.)

Examiner of Gaugers Books Office,

loth January 1822.
Honored Sirs, I BEG leave to lay before you Three Accounts, with their Duplicates, of Spirits distilled in Iieland, as required by your Order; but I regret it is not in my power at all to make the Returns required, of the Prices of Irish Spirits in every three months for the last five years in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick, and how much the Prices exceed the Duty; neither am I aware how materials could be collected to make such a Return from.
For the same cause I cannot make the Statement required what the Excess of Price of Spirits in Ireland, calculated in Enghsh wine gallons, at seven per cent above proof, is over the Duty.
