(c) The Act for the Registration of Births and Deaths (26 Tic, cap.
11), by which the Registrars' Districts were defined, did not come into operation until 1864.
It is, therefore, not now found practicable to give the number of houses in 1841,1851, and 1861, for each of the districts into•whichi the electoral division of Belfast haa been divided for registration purposes.
The areas of the Districts of Belfast, Nos.
1, 2,3, were altered between 1871 and 1881 by the transfer of several streets from the latter District to the two former, but the figures for 1871 have not been altered, as the number of houses and population m each, in that year, cannot be ascertained.
