Make temporary provision for the Eelief of the destitute a.d. 
1883.

BE it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty by and 

with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :— 5 1. 
The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland may from time p0Wer to 

to time on the recommendation of the Local Government Board for mak.e 
&rants Ireland (in this Act referred to as the Local Government Board) and uni0ns. 
with the sanction of the Commissioners of the Treasury, grant to the board of guardians of any union, out of any moneys in their hands, 10 such sums as the Local Government Board may find necessary, 

having regard to the financial condition of such union and the pressure of distress within its limits, to aid in providing for the administration of relief for the destitute poor in the union. 
Grants shall not be made under this Act after the thirty-first day 15 of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four. 

The total amount granted under this Act shall not exceed fifty thousand pounds. 
"Whenever any such graut is made, the Commissioners of the Treasury shall notify to the Irish Land Commission the bum so 20 granted, and thereupon the Irish Land Commission shall out of the 

funds which they may raise on the security of their annual income under the Irish Church Act Amendment Act, 1881, pay over to the 44&45Vict. 
Commissioners of Public Works, the amount stated by the Commis-c-7L sioners of the Treasury on each such occasion to have been granted Extension of 25 under the provisions of this Act.
