A RETURN «' of the Industrial Employment of the Juvenile Inmates of the Work¬ house in each Union in Ireland, to the latest Date in 1853 to which the Information may have been made up ; showing the Extent of Land held with the Workhouse avail¬ able for Cultivation, the Portion cultivated by Boys, the Number of Boys under Fifteen Years of Age employed in Agriculture, the Total Number of Boys from Nine to Fifteen Years of Age in the Workhouse, and the Number of Hours daily devoted to the Industrial Training of the Boys; also, the Number of Boys employed at each Trade taught in the Workhouse; also, the Nature of the Industrial Training or Employment of the Girls in the Workhouse, the Number of Girls receiving an Industrial Education, the Number of Girls in the Workhouse from Nine to Fifteen Years of Age, and the Number of Hours daily devoted to the Industrial Training of the Girls; also, any Causes which may have prevented the Guardians from employing the Boys in Agricul¬ ture ; also, the Number of Children under Fifteen Years of Age, known to have obtained Employment outside the Workhouse in the Year 1852 ; with any Observations or Particulars given which may have been made by the Clerk of any Union on the Return forwarded by him."
