Order of the Honourable The House of Commons, 

dated 17 July 1854 ;—-forr 

RETURN, "showing the Name, Age, and Sex of all Deserted Children under the Care of the Metropolitan Police Force, Dublin, during the Years ending the 30th day of June 1850, 1851, 1852, 1853, and 1854 respectively; the Street or Place where each Child was found Deserted; the Date of the Application made hy the Police to the Overseers of the Parish to provide for the Care of such Child, and the Sums Paid or agreed to he Paid for the Nursing and Maintenance of such Child; the Total Yearly Expense incurred in respect of Deserted Children, and the Authority hy virtue of which such Expenses were incurred, by the Police, the Names of such of the Children as shall have been Baptised when under the Care of the Police, the Religious Denomination of the Minister by whom and the Place where such Child shall have been Baptised, and a Copy of the Order or Instructions given for the Baptism of such Child."
