A BILL For the more effectual Relief of the destitute 

Poor in Ireland.

it is expedient to provide for the more effectual Preamble, Relief of the destitute Poor, in Ireland ; %<B ft ffo&tttiXZ tmtUtf, by The QUEEN's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, THAT the Poor Law Commissioners for the time being shall be the Commissioners to carry this Act into execution. 
And be it Enacted, That it shall be lawful for the said Commissioners, or any one of them, at any time or place, by summons under the seal of 10 the Commissioners, or under the hand and seal of any one of trlem, 

to require the attendance of all such persons as they or he may think fit to call before them or any of them upon any matter connected with the objects or purposes or the execution of the provisions of this Act, and to make inquiries, and require returns, and to administer oaths, 15 and examine all such persons upon oath, and to require and enforce 

the production upon oath of Books, Contracts, Agreements, Accounts, maps, plans, surveys, valuations and writings, or copies thereof re¬ spectively in anywise relating to any such matter, or, where any person shall object to be sworn, or where the Commissioners or Commis-20 sioner shall, for any other reason, think fit, in lieu of requiring such 

oath as aforesaid, to require any such person to make and subscribe a declaration of the truth of the matters respecting which he shall have 15-a been
