followed with an address largely of personal
reminisence, which moved and melted the audience.
He told of his father's death on shipboard on the
way to America from Ireland, leaving his mother a
widow with eight children to support.  He also
narrated incidents coming under his personal
observation of young men who had forsaken lucrative
business positions to enter the ministry....
