Christopher Dawson.
Thomas Dawson, whose son Christopher settled in Ireland in
1611 and purchased the lands of Castle Dawson in the Co.
[County?] of Londonderry in the 8th year of Charles 1st's
reign 1633 from
Dudley Philips. His son and successor Thomas Dawson d.
[died?] in 1683 and was succeeded by his son Thomas Dawson
of Castle Dawson, Member for the Borough of Antrim.

M. Arabella Upton of Castle Upton, in the Co. of
Antrim, and dying in 1695 was succeeded by his brother
Joshua Dawson of Castle Dawson M.P.
for borough of Wicklow and Chief Secretary for Ireland to
the lords Justices in 1710. He died in 1727 leaving with
other issue, 2 sons and a daughter namely
Arthur, his heir
William who married Sarah Newcomen widow of Colonel Dawson
of Co. Tipperary and had issue

Sarah, M. [Married?] to Thomas Newenham Esq. of
Coolmore in the Co. Cork
Mary, M. [Married?] to the Hon.ble [Honourable?] Henry
Sackville Hamilton, M.P.
The elder Son
Arthur Dawson of Castle Dawson who represented for a
considerable time the Co. of Londonderry in
Parliament was constituted one of the Barons of the
Exchequer 1742. He M. [Married?] Jane O'Neil of Shane's
Castle, and dying 1775 was succeeded by his Nephew, (our
Grandfather was 3rd brother to the Baron.) (My brother's
Grandfather Charles Dawson [Eryly?] M.E.S.A. [Mary E.
Savage-Armstrong?] Arthur Dawson of Castle Dawson born 1745,
many years Member of Parliament for the Borough of Middleton
and Banagher, who M. [Married?] in 1775, Catherine dau.
[Daughter?] of George Paul and Lady [Araninta?] Monck & had
issue,
George Robert, his heir

Henry Richard, Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, who
M. [Married?] Frances Hessetine:-

Maria, M. [Married?] to Henry [Kemnus?] Esq.re
of Dublin. (From whom are descended the Canes of St.
[Wolstaw?] Celbridge, Co. Kildare M.E.S.A. [Mary
E. Savage-Armstrong?] Mr Dawson died 6th Dec. 1822 and was
succeeded by his son George Robert Dawson of Castle Dawson.

[Arms?]. [Azure?]; on a bend or, three [Martlets?] [ules?].
Crest, [unetoil?] of six points, or. Motto "Toujours
Propice". Estates Co. Londonderry, Cavan & Dublin.
Seat Castle Dawson, Co. Derry.
