                  SHORT NOTES OF EARLY METHODISM
                                           IN IRELAND.

From the MSS. of the late Wm. [William] Ferguson.

...JOHN HARPER, after labouring a few years in his
native country, went also to the West Indies, and
thence subsequently to the United States of America,
where he became connected with the Methodist Episcopal
Church. In this Church ROBERT McCOY also became a
minister, injudicious treatment from his Superintendent
having so discouraged him that he left the Enniskillen
Circuit, to which he had been appointed in 1789,
returned home, and emigrated to the States....

Dublin. JOSEPH W. McKAY
