421-43 The loans sanctioned by your Lordships under these Acts amount to £687,395. 
The Vict., 
c 222 advances on account thereof, including interest charged during the carrying out of the *ls79) works, and prior to award when repayments commence, amount to £493,221; and the 44Cl\i repayments amount to £122,602, including interest. 
The total area of land drained or Vkt.i'. 
21S improved in the 31 districts in which awards have been made is 55,311 statute acres, Local. 
against which the cost chargeable amounts to £322,216. 
Increased Rents in respect of Deainage Charges. 
During the past year twelve applications were received from Proprietors for increased rents to be paid by the tenants in respect of lands improved by drainage,—embracing 213 holdings—189 being tenants from year to year, and 24 leaseholders; and meetings have been held by us to determine the amounts, except in cases postponed or withdrawn by the applicants.

Three new applications were received during the past year, for the Districts of— Deel River, county Westmeath. 
Dunmore, county Galway. 
Mulkear, county Limerick. 
The preliminary steps have been taken in the case of the River Deel District. 
Dun-more awaits an inspection by the Board's Engineer—no action has been taken in the case of the Mulkear, as the Drainage Board are executing the necessary works. 
In the following districts the works have been in progress, viz. 
:—Oranhill, Cappagh, Hind, Gorteen, and Frankford. 
Charging orders have been made for Frankford, Hind, Oranhill and Gorteen. 
Loans under the Act 43 & 44 Vic., 
c. 
14, s. 
13, "Relief of Distress Amendment Act, 1880," have been made to the trustees of the following district :—Lavally, co. 
Galway. 
Maintenance of Navigations in connexion with Drainage under provisions of Act 

19 & 20 Vic, c.

No proceedings under this Act. 

ROYAL HARBOURS. 
Kingstown Harbour, County Dublin. 
The works of this harbour, including the piers, sea slopes, parapets, slips, bollards, jetties, wharves, buildings, fences, roads, lamps, and sewers have been maintained in good order, and the roads lighted ; and in addition a large quantity of boulder stones has been removed from the coal harbour; a bathing-place has been constructed outside the West Pier; a metal guard rail on the west side of the mail packet pier has been erected ; the lighting of the pier has been improved, and 29,583 tons of mud and sand have been dredged out of the harbour. 
Considerable damage was done to both the east and west piers by the very^ severe gales of last autumn and winter, the repair of this damage is being proceeded with.
