1860 Dec'r [December?] 1st A wet day, with an air of wind from the south-east, and north-East - called on James Martin and on John & Sparten. I trust Absalom is near the American cost [coast?], in safty [safety?] Mr Speers, & gathares [gatherers?] shilling banes, & jobing
