Mary Anne and her mother dose [does?] the work of the house 
the [they?] have a good dale [deal?] to wash but the [they?] have
little trouble to dry them The sun is so hot you may think it hot
when Metilda is intend to gow [go?] around this week without 
a cap and all the time has good health as regards myself I was 
subject to a pain in my head at home and I have not had any 
since I came here Little Cathrin [Catherine?] would get 1 dollars
[dollars?] per week taking care of a baby but I thought better 
to send her to school with Willy and Samuel the [they?] will 
gow [go?] this week The school is about 100 yards from our 
house we aplyed [applied?] last week but they must be taken to the
[there?] bee [be?] a seat empty

We live now in the next street we have a 4 roomed house and 
selar [cellar?] and yard at 13 Dolars [Dollars?] per month The
clothing we had with us is of no use even my shirts wool and white
is to [too?] [----?] The [they?] are only fit for David and Johney 
and the bedsheets [bed sheets?] are made so large that it takes 3 
beds to make 2 we hope you will always be as a mother to Magy
and Elisa for you are all the friend the [they?] have There now we
ware [were?] glad to here [hear?] of Magy gowing [going?] to visit
you we ware [were?] in good respect at home and we are the same
here. The Man I work with was raised at Castlederg his name is
George Montieth.

I made enquiry about John McGlaughlin he went out I was told 
to Washington to work on a railway in the begining [beginning?] 
of April I did not get seeing Elisa Jane Park but she was making 
enquiry at a young man by the name of Burns where we lived 
and I sent our adress [address?] so we are expecting her around 
soon. Dear mother do not be grieved although we are far distant 
I intend to still rite [write?]  to yous [you?] how we are situated 
This is a good Countery [Country?] to make money but just as good
to lay  it out one shilling would gow [go?] as far at home as a 
Dolar [Dollar?] here We have moved from the house we went to
first it was too Large and the [there?] ware [were?] a [-----?] 
before the door we ware [were?] afraid of [----?].

I am sending a letter to Joseph and Elisa to day with the same 
Post as yours and I will send Samuel and Magy one next week
Magy thinks a good dale [deal?] of long after us but tell her to 
ware [wear?] of that as well as possible- Metilda never quits
thinking of the friends at home  I will give yous [you?] more 
news in my next letter we ware [were?] glad to here [hear?] 
of the Fine litter of pigs you had I hope your will have good 
success with the next no more at present we remain yours.
