of City's Parks.

Deceased Had Lived in Geneva for
Fort-five Years, and Had Until
Recently Been in Charge
of Its Parks and Parkways
Geneva, Nov. 4. -The death of
John Belfour, the well-known nurseryman
and landscape gardener, occurred this
morning at the home of his daughter,
Mrs William Millard, of No. 211
Puultney street.
The deceased was born seventy years ago
in Ireland, but had lived in Geneva for
the past forty-five years. With the
exception of the last year he had been the
caretaker of the city parks and parkways
ever since the adoption of the city charter.
The deceased had been in ill health since last
July, and his death was due to a general
breakdown.
Mr Belfour leaves three sons, George T. Belfour,
of Chattanooga, Tennessee; John J. Belfour, of
this city, and Joseph Belfour, of Toronto; three
daughters, Mrs. Richard T. McCoy, of Elizabeth,
N.J. [New Jersey?]; Mrs. William Millard, of this
city, and Mrs. C.E. Pier, of Corning, and five
grandchildren.
The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock Monday
morning from the home of Mrs. Millard, with Dr. C.
M. Sills, D.D., rector of Trinity Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery.
