                                   S.S. Thursby, Torquay
                                   Thursday, 25th June 1885

                                   Dear Brother,
Just a few lines to Say that we arrived hear [here?]
Safe and all well thank God for all his kind
mercies we were loaded all  ready for sea last
Saturday evening tide but did not get away it
was blowing hard we did not sail untill [until?]
Monday morning and after we left about 5 hours it
commenced to blow hard from the S.W. we took
Shilter [shelter?] in red wharf Bay. lay their [there?]
till midnight Sail from their [there?] and got to about
12 miles off the Lands end and then it Set in thick fog
we paddled away Slow for about 6 hours, and
then the weather got a little lighter, Steered
in 2 hours S.S.E. and heard the fogg [fog?] signal
of the Longships  Made the Longships at 6.30
A M on wednesday morning and I think we passed
