My Dear Bella
         Just a few lines in
answer to your kind
and welcome letter which
I recieved [received?] allright [alright?] a few
weeks ago and would have
answered it sooner only I have not much news
I have not had any letters
from home this week but I
hope to have one soon
I hope your mother
and Johny is well. Teresa
and me often talk about how
good yous{you?] have always been
to us. Your house was
just like home to us
no matter how often we went

Side2

It was always the same
I hope Ma & Da and
Minnie Aggie & Joe is well.
It is terrible to think of
our house with so little
in it But I hope we
wont [wont?]find the time passing
to we are back again If
God spares us all. I
hear James Pat is not so
well indeed its to [too?] bad
I always liked to see
Pat coming in he was
always good fun
I see in the papers here
that yous [you?] have terrible weather
there now deep snow You
must have the canedian [Canadian?]
winter their [there?] this year we
have never had a cold day

Side3

only 2 this winter I suppose you
heard I am going to school every
day I go away at 8 in the morning
and does not be home to after
6oc [six oclock?] at night I am learning to be
an operator in the Bell Telephone Company
this is my last week for learning and
I get paid for learning I like it well
I will have a pound a week for 6 months
and then I will get a good rise It is not
a hard job of course. I may not begin to
explain it

Side 4

for I know when I was at home
myself I would not know any
thing about Telephones. You
might tell Da that I
was talking to Mr. Rae
last night and he told
me he is going to Clougherny [Clogherny?]
this summer Im [I'm] shure [sure?]
Da would like to see
him Well I have not much
to say in this letter But
We are both well & doing
well. Give my best love
to your mother & Johny
and tell your Mother I miss
her Just as much as she misses
me she was always so good
to us But I hope we
will meet again
                     Ill say GoodBy [Goodbye?]
for the present and hoping to
hear from you soon I remain yours
                               As Ever Ellie
