Mrs. Dr. Andrew W. Smyth,
 c/o/ Mr. A. Baldwin, City.

Dear Madam : -
              Sometime since I got a cablegram instructing
me to do nothing in reference to lands, signed Smyth;
later I got a cablegram followed by a document stating
that my power of attorney was withdrawn ; following this
you arrived in New Orleans I presume in the interest of
Dr. Smyth. I requested some days since that you call at
my office either with Mr. Albert Baldwin Sr. or Jr., and
I would go over the entire matter with you and him giving
all information in my power. This you have not seen fit
to do. And I now desire to put the responsibility where it
belongs, and therefore state to you that any loss that may
result from the neglect of this matter must be borne
entirely by you as Dr. Smyth's representative, and
furthermore that any loss sustained by myself, I will look
to Dr. Smyth and his representatives to make good.
              Yours respectfully,
                         W. Morgan Gurley.
