Rev [Reverend?] WILLIAM STAVELEY
born 1743
died 1825
born at Ferniskey a townland near Kells co Antrim in 1743
His father was Aaron Staveley whose family had originally
come from the towne [town?] of Stavely in England
Aaron Stavely owned a small freehold property at
Ferniskey and was in comfortable worldly circumstances
He was brought up an Episcopalian but became a Covenanter
from conviction
William Staveley's mother was a daughter of the Rev [Reverend?]
Patrick Vance Presbyterian Minister of Ray co Donegal
William Staveley was the only son of the family which
consisted altogether of 3 children
the other 2 being
Esther afterwards Mrs Agnes [Agnew?] who with her husband
emigrated to New York
& Eliza who married Mr Cussack and with her husband
also emigrated to America
