THE LATE BOATING ACCIDENT AT TOOME - Finding
Of One of the Bodies,-On Saturday last an inquest
was, held in the Courthouse, Toome, by
Dr. Taggart, coroner, and a jury, on the body of
a man that was found floating in the river Bann,
near Toome, the preceding day. The body was
identified that of James Campbell, a native of
County Tyrone, one of the four fishermen lost in
Lough Neagh on the morning of the 25th of
November last, the boat in which they were fishing
having been upset during a violent storm. A
verdict of accidental drowning was returned by
the jury. An Inquest was also held by Dr.
Taggart at Ballydugan, near Toome on the body
of an old man named Francis McVeigh, who was
found dead on Saturday morning lying on the
floor of his bedroom. After examination of witnesses
a verdict of found dead, and that death
was not the result of violence was returned by
the jury.
MASONIC ORPHAN BOYS SCHOOL.- The half yearly
meeting of the Governors was held sit the schoolhouse,
Adelaide Hall, Merrion, on Tuesday, the
10th day of May, 1881, to transact the ordinary
business, and to receive the report of the scrutineers
of the. ballot for the" election of three pupils
from the list of candidates. The rules, as revised,
and altered by* the sub-committee, to whom
the same were referred, were adopted as the rules
