             Strawberry Hill, Monday night.

My dear Margaret,
This morning I walked into town expecting a letter from
Mrs Sharman, and was disappointed in not finding one.
To-morrow will bring it.
However grateful I am to Mrs Wilson for her kind invitation
that you should spend a few days at North Lodge, yet I cannot
see the propriety of your going there at present but in company
with your good patroness and friend, Mrs Sharman, to
whom your visit was designed exclusively, and without whose
concurrence and approbation I do not wish you to go anywhere.
The public dinner was a very splendid thing, perhaps you
may see an account of it in the papers. The Marquis seemed to
enjoy it very much, and to be in perfect good-humour. He left
Lisburn on Sunday for England.
I hope you will be attentive to everything that deserves
your attention, and that you will not be deficient in that
kind and affectionate regard you owe to Mrs Sharman.
            Yours most affectionately,
                                 A. [Andrew?] Craig.

Miss Craig,
  Mrs Sharman's
    Arthur Street,
      BELFAST.
