This Indenture Made the      day of 1885 Between Thomas Steele
of Naul in the County of Armagh Farmer of the one part
and Francis Steele now of Naul aforesaid but late of New
York America Spinster of the other part - Whereas the said
Thomas Steele is possessed of a farm of land situate in the
sd [said?] townland of Naul containing 43. 3. 0 A.R.P. Statute
measure or thereabouts (and intended to be hereby assigned) as
tenant thereof from year to year subject to a judicial term
under the Land Law Ireland of 1881 held from The Reports of the
late Sir James Stronge at the yearly Judicial rent to œ38.00
and whereas the said Thomas Steele is indebted to the said
Frances Steele in the sum of œ180 and has agreed to secure the
repayment of same with interest thereon at the rate of 5 per
cent
per annum by a Mortagage of said farm of land with the house
and buildings thereon as hereinafter mentioned - Now this
Indenture witnesseth that in pursuance of said agreement and in
consideration of said sum of œ180 so due and owing by the said
Thomas Steele to the said Frances Steele which the said Thomas
Steele doth hereby acknowledge he the said Thomas Steele doth
by these presents As beneficial owner grant and assign unto said
Frances Steele her Exrs [Executors?] Admons [Administrators?]
and assigns All that and those the hereinbefore mentioned farm
of land and premises situate in the townland of Naul aforesaid
containing by estimation a 43. 3.0 A.R.P. English Statute
measure be the same more or less situate in the Parish of Tynan Barony of Tiranny and County of Armagh
together with all houses buildings and improvements erected and
made thereon and the rights members and appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in anywise appurtaining and all the estate and
interest of the said Thomas Steele therein To have and To hold
all and singular the said farm of land and premises hereinbefore
expressed to be hereby granted and assigned with their and
every of their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Steele her
Exors [executors?] Admon [Administrators?] and Assigns in as
full large ample and benefical a manner as the said Thomas
Steele held the said premises subject however to the proviso
or condition for redemption hereinafter contained that is to
say Provided always and it is hereby convenanted and agreed by
and between the parties hereto that if the said Thomas Steele
his Exors [executors?] Admon [administrators?] or assigns shall
say or cause to be said unto the said Frances Steele her Exors
[executors?] Admons [administrators?] or Assigns the said sum
of œ180 with interest thereon at the rate of œ1 per cent per
annum without and deduction to be calculated from the date
of these presents on the 1st day of February next that then
and in such case the said Frances Steele her Exors [executors?]
Admons [administrators?] or Assigns will at any time after the
said 1st day of February next upon the request and at the
expense of the said Thomas Steele his Exors [executors?] Admons
[administrators?] or Assigns re-assign said lands and premises
hereby assigned or intended so to be unto the said Thomas
Steele his Exors Admons or Assigns free from incumbrances done
or committed by the said Frances Steele her Exors [executors?]
Admons [administrators?] or Assigns or any person claiming by
from or under her them or any of them And he the said Thomas
Steele doth hereby for himself his heirs Exors [executors?]
and Admons [administrators?] covenant with the said Frances
Steele her Exors [executors?] Admons [administrators?] and
Assigns that the the said Thomas Steele his Exors [executors?]
Admons [administrators?] and Assigns will pay or
cause to be paid unto the said Frances Steele her Exors
[executors?] Admons [administrators?] or Assigns the said sum
of œ180 with interest for the same at the rate of œ1 per cent.
per annum on the 1st day of February next without any deduction
whatsoever And that if any default shall be made in the payment
on said 1st day of February next of said sum of œ180 with
interest as foresaid that then and in such case the said Thomas
Steele his heirs Exors [executors?] Admons [administrators?] or
Assigns will pay or cause to be paid unto the said Frances Steele
her Exors Admons or Assigns interest for the same or for
so much thereof as shall for the time being remain unpaid after
the rate foresaid on every first day of February and 1st day of
August until said principal sum shall be paid - And also that
he the said Thomas Steele his Exors [Executors?] and Admons
[Administrators?] and every person claiming through or in trust
for him them or any of them shall and will from time to time
and at all times hereafter so long as any principal money or
interest shall remain due on the security hereby created pay
or discharge the yearly rent and other outgoings payable in
respect of said farm of land and premises hereby assigned or
intended so to be as the same shall become due and payable
And shall and will at all times hereafter during the
continuance of this security keep the said Frances
Steele her Exors [Executors?] Admons [administrators?] and
Assigns indemnified against all actions suits claims and
expenses on account of the non-payment of the said seat and
other outgoings or any part thereof And lastly it is hereby
declared that the said Frances Steele her Exors [executors?]
Admons [Administrators?] and Assigns shall have all the powers
rights and remedies given to mortgages in and by The
Conveyancing and Law of property Act 1881 and any Act altering
or amounting the same as fully and effectually to all intents
and purposes as if the same were herein repeated at large

from 1st January 1870 to date of marking certificate on this
requistion
