Letter from Charles and Bridget McEarlane to their son, Joseph
McEarlane

Dear Joseph we received a letter from you in April last and we would
have wrote to you long since only waiting to get some account from
peter we got no letter or account from him since Xmas [Christmas?]
last he said he would come home this summer to see us we wonder he
never sent any account what he intends to do about this farm we
wrote him that we would not hold all the land another year we have
held all the land yet to see what he will do we are tired of holding
the land. we are both getting frail father is most of his time in
bed. we would like to know if you had any account from peter. write
as soon as possible and if we get any letter from peter we will let
you know Immediately when you write let us know if you know anything
about Johny [Johnny?] Boyle his parents are very uneasy to hear from
him we would like to know how yous are getting along if the strike
has don [done?] you any harm mick and wife are well and aunt Mary
Britton died in March last crops and pork are very cheap this year.
