Dear Mother
            I lift my
Pen to let you Know
that we are all well
hooping [hopping?] this will
find you the same
Bella had a letter
from bella mageean [Maginn?]
last week and we
were happy to Know
that you were well
I sent you home
$50 and the draft
was dated Sept 5th 66 [1866?]
and i would like to
Know if you got it
all right [alright?] I enclose
you $50 now
I was sorry to hear
off william Adairs
death it must be
verry [very?] hard with mary
To make a living for
herself and so many
little ones
I have maid [made?] the
[----?] of a bad fellow
lately she is Sarah
Coulter weare [where?] stoppping
To Nicks and will
be for the winter
I am thinking of
gowing [going?] to live in
MusKegon [Michigan?] again spring
Ellen Piper is got
married to [Lairdtey?]
form Cloughy [Clougher?] you
spoke of getting
her passage money
from her i would
be willing to take
it but i am doubtful
It is dead horse
