Dear Albert,
I am truly sorry to
Trouble you about this matter, but my sons
say your advice is more valuable than our
own solicitors’, who, though very fine
man, naturally knows nothing of the case in
the same way as you do.
Is it right for me to sign this, do you think
I wish Lily and you live nearer. As I grow
older I cling closer to my own flesh and blood
and would like to see more of them. Though
I must confess if I heard of Hazlett’s death
it would not cause me great grief!
With affectionate regards
I am
Your cousin
Ellen
