My Dear Albert:-

I thought I would enlighten you as to the (Campbell Estate
in St. Louis, I have made five tripps since October, 1931, just came back two
weeks ago, first I find Hazlett, in the same condition as he was five years
ago onely he is in bed all the time now he will be seventy six years on
the 2, February, he is still in the old home and the same man and woman that
Hugh employed thirty years ago are taking care of him.

Two suits have been started as to Hughs’ estate the first is
by two Jewish boys saying they were adopted by Hugh Campbell, therefore are
entitled to any interest Hugh may have in this estate, the second was filed
by Anton Schuler, he is the Guardian the Probate Court appointed for Hazlett
his action states that Hugh was mentally unfit to make a will and that the
St. Louis Union Trust Company, had influence over him and that he did not
know what he was signing, I have a copy of these actions if you care to see
them I will send them so you can make a copy for your self and the other
Cousins over there you can let me know also I have a copy of Hugh’s Will as
well as a copy of the appraisement of the entire Robert Campbell Estate. I
will be glad to send them you will be surprised at the amount of this Robert
Campbell estate.

Hazletts’ Estate not counting his share of real estate in
cash or Government bonds amounts to $ 1, 750,000.00, I think you have the
copy of the original Trust Document that Robert Campbell and his wife
Virginia J. Campbell, on February 15, 1877 turned his entire estate over to
two men Gantt and Rankin, naming them Joint Tenants and this entire estate
as a trust estate for the benefits of his three sons, this document was the
one that was recorded October 31, 1879 just two weeks after the death of
Robert Campbell, he having died October 17, 1879,

I wish to ask you to do a favour for Mary and I and this is
a most important factor as to establishing the deed to our property that
you go to James J. Johnson, Solicitor, 142 Royal Avenue, and get from him
the Deed dated June 16, 1845, from James Johnston Clark to Hugh Clark and
Moses Clark, have this (DEED RECORDED) in the proper place in Belfast and let me know the cost and I will send you the same by return mail this was recorded in Dublin, but it was burned it was by this Deed that Matthew Clark
gained his suit November 11, 1890, you can show this to any of the cousins
and I will keep you informed I neglected to say I am doing my utmost to
establish this original trust estate of Robert Campbell, if I accomplish this
Hugh Campbells, will is not considered and at Hazletts death it goes to
us cousins, with kindest regards to Mrs. C. Very truly your cousin C.C. Charl
