[Dear?] Aunt:
When I wrote you last I was
at Washington the next morning I went
through the National Museum where I
saw a Washington Uniform and other
souvenirs of Washington, Lincoln & [Grant?]
I went through the Smithsonian
Institute and then went over to the
Washinton Monument and walked to
the top of it as the elevator was not
running The Officer there said It was
898 steps to the top landing, 500 feet
The monument is 555 feet high
I left Washington at 11.30 am
Friday morning on the B & ORR
and arrived here at 5.20 PM and
took the elevated road up Town
Mrs Nellie [Healy?] was in here today and
said to give you her love. She looks
natural and I do not think she has
changed such a great deal she had her
daughter Bella with her.
The folks here are all well.
Your loving nephew
George
