p.6B 1. MICHAEL ALLEN
                                                      4 North Terrace Inchicore
                                                      Engine Driver.

                                           2. 28th March 1867, Superintendent
                                                      Ryan.

                                           3. 30th March 1867, Mountjoy.

                                           4. 4th June 1867, from Mountjoy to
                                                      Kilmainham.

                                           5. 8th July 1868, on bail and to
                                                      leave Ireland in one month.

             5392 On the 12th March, 1867, Superintendent
Ryan reported that M. Allen was an engine
driver employed by The Great Southern and
W.R. [Western Railway?] Company and from the
                                           information that
led to his arrest it would appear that he
was a very mischievous Fenian agent.

9182 Prisoner's letters to the Visiting Director
stating that his health is much impaired
by imprisonment, is willing to make an
affidavit that he was never connected with
Fenianism would have sailed for America
were it not for a person who bore him
revenge who gave information and had him
p.6B 9182 arrested. Considers that he is unjustly
detained as no evidence was produced to
prove his guilt. Prays to be released on
bail or on condition of going to America.

he is kept in custody in consequence of a
letter he wrote to the Superintendent of
the Great Southern and W.R. for Wages he
says are due to him. Aged Mother and
sister depending on him for support. Was
never connected with Fenianism. Prays for
release either on bail or condition of
                                           going to America.

             13590 Prisoner's letter 2-8-1867 stating that he
has already made five applications for
release all of which have been refused,
that he intented to sail for America on the
17th March. That the money he had saved
has since been expended in the support of an
aged and widowed mother and sister and in
retaining Messrs Curran and Ennis. Prays

also that he should be allowed one fortnight
