My Dear Bella
Just a few lines in answer
to your very kind & welcome
letter which I recieved [received?] some
time ago. We were very glad
to get a letter from you and
to see by It you are all
well. I had a letter from
home on Friday last I was
very sorry to hear of Poor Aley
Devine being dead.
        She was a good soul.
I hope your mother and
Johny is well. we be often talking
about yous [you?] you never can
tell this time next winter
I might be over there dancing
the Passover with Patrick McKillin

Side 2
I was sorry to hear of Mary
Coyle being away to
America She is so young
Poor Mrs Coyle will be
very lonely Its hard to go
away but Its [Its?] nice coming
home again
Ill [Ill?] never forget the day
I left I thought I could
not stay away from Clougherney [Clogherny?]
for a month
         Well we soon got over
the lonliness [loneliness?] But I Just
miss my Father & Mother
& your Mother Just as much
as the day I left. The
Canidiens [Canadians?] are allright [alright?]
But there is no one as
good natured as the Irish
no matter where you go

Side 3

We are both going to have our picture
taken tomorrow so as soon as the [they?] are ready
We will send yous [you?] one I hope. They are
all well at home. I must write a
letter to Da. the next time Its [Its?] hard
to get a letter out of him of course he
has [enough?] to do & men all hate to
write how is your Mother I suppose
she is working away as hard as ever
but she has made well of her work for
I hear yous [you?] have a lovely new house
Im [I'm?] shure [sure?] it is

Side 4

not a bit to [too?] good for your
mother for I dont [don't?] think
there could be a better
woman living
         It is always the same
every time we get a letter from
home. The [they?] are always talking
about your godness [goodness?] to
them well I think Ill [Ill?]
have to draw to a close
as it is getting dark
