Dear Brother I received your
letter directed to me at Gracey
Deated [Dated?] June 13th 1867 I got it the
same day it came to hand he
had not much truble [trouble?] in finding
me out as we live within a
cry of each other the Deate [Date?] of
this leaves us all well hoping
when this comes to hand it
will find you in the same Dear
James we have a large famely [family?]
eight of them A (stain) you a
big stout Boy he [some?] times
workes [works?] at home with us and
some times works out he is
working to a farmer beside us
now for four mounths [months?] he gets
two pounds ten shillings a
Mounth [Month?] starling [sterling?]
Mary Jane is the second Catherine is
the third Margret Ann is the fourth
James is the fift [fifth?]
David [is?] the sixt [sixth?] Elizabeth
is the [sev?]enth Martha is
the eight [eighth?] this is our famely
[family?] and thank God we have plenty
for them all let me know
if my Father and Mother
are yet alive and how them
situated james you want me
to say whether I would advise
you to come hear [here?] or not please
your self but a man by his
days wages could live better
here than aney [any?] farmer could
aford [afford?]
I bought fifteen acars [acres?]
of land eight years ago standing
all in woods now I have it all
cleared up but not paid for yet we
have 2 milk cows 2 dry heafers
[heifers?] 2 oxen that is what
we do our plouing [ploughing?] and
work with in place of horses.
We have 21 she[ep?] and a
good crop on our [--?]ce this
summer wheat (stain)est is
just on now Mary McKee
[ing?] Mother-law makes her
home with us James
there is better chance
for an emegrant [emigrant?] now hear
[here?] as the Goverment [Government?]

but it is all in wild woods
James I will say but
little more now to I
get word from you again

coming out hear [here?] write
off hand to me and I

them know that there [their?]
friends are all well and
