The fifth house from the right in this sketch of Ballywalter
Lower Main Street, is where Alexander Glenn Jr. ( bap.
[baptized?] 10 July 1838 ) was raised. His parents,
Alexander Glenn (sailor ) and Mary Askin, rented the
house from landlord Andrew Mulholland. In 1863
at the age of 25, Alex Jr. ( mariner ) left Ballywalter to join
his uncle Sam who had gone to Amherst Island in 1827, and his
uncle Hugh who had gone there in the 1840's.
