A letter, dated the 8th December 1892, to Miss Elizabeth Jane Kells (1863 - 1941), Ballyconnell, County Cavan, from her brother-in-law, John Carter (1852 - 1901), who lived in Vancouver and had recently married Everina Kells (1872 - 1903).

reach you that I have wooed and won
and have wedded the fair young ladie [lady?]
who is now my beloved wife and we are
away in Victoria on our wedding toure
[tour?] enjoying ourselves in splendid  still
we are beyond [toubth?] happily united -
Everina joines [joins?] with me in the deepest
love for you and all other members
of the family - our address is as Eva has
give to you - please answer as soon as
